VERONICA LUNA "Luna, I want you to meet my boyfriend." My twin Camille promised as I was dragged outside. My hair stood on end when a tall man got out of the car. I was at a loss for words over his sheer hotness, and far too fascinated by the man walking toward us. Camille hugged the man by the arm. I don’t know but Camille seems to be forced to act. "Luna, I want you to meet, Dylan Caden. My boyfriend." "Hi." He smiled. I saw him extend his hand but couldn't bring myself to shake it. And I couldn't tear my eyes away from his face. When his brows snapped together at the delay, I lurched back to reality and hastily placed my cold hand in his large, warm one. "Luna," I murmured breathlessly. His strong handshake sent tingles up my spine and through my body. "Veronica was right. You're identical." His laughter was music to my ears. "Ahm, yeah." I smiled sparingly and both my cheeks warmed. Veronica is what she calls Camille. We both have Veronica by name, I am Veronica Luna and my twin is Veronica Camille. It was our mother's name, but we never saw it because she died giving birth to us. "How long have you been together?" I asked as we walked into the house. Dylan turned to me and I averted my gaze. My heart is beating so fast. "Let's see, six months." I just nodded and we went inside. We found Papa sitting on the one sitter sofa. His eyes were cold when he looked at me. I bowed my head and stopped walking. "What's wrong?" Camille whispered. "I should leave. Papa might get angry." "No. Don't leave. Stay with me." Begging for it. Wondering at the tone of his voice I chose not to leave it. Dad stood up as Dylan approached. "Dylan Caden! I thought you weren't going." Dylan smiled and shook Dad's hand. "Hello, sir." We sat down and the maid brought a snack into the living room. "Any special reason why you visited at this hour? It's past dinner time." Dylan cleared his throat and took one of Camille's hands. "Uncle, I want to marry your daughter." I think Dad expected the announcement because he doesn’t look shocked. But I could feel Camille stiffened next to Dylan. I felt her anxiety. "Isn't too fast? You both know each other for only a few months, am I right?" I butt in. Dad glared at me, his expression was dark. "You're not involved in this conversation and you're not the one to decide on it. So, leave." "B-But, 'Pa—" "I said, leave! Now!" I got up and headed to where our pool was. I removed my sandals and dipped my leg in the water. I don’t know how long I’ve been mesmerized by the absence. I just felt that someone was beside me. Camille also dipped her feet in the water. She sighed. "I'm going to get married, Luna." "You didn't reject him? You've only dated for six months." Her feet partly played with the water. "We need him, Luna." "What do you mean by that?" "Dad lost the gamble and got into big debt. We're going to sink, Luna." I looked into the distance. "Camille." "Yeah?" "He's your boyfriend and you love each other; I think everything will be alright. You are kind and understanding, I'm sure your relationship will work." She laughed softly. "Sometimes I think I'd rather be you. I want to be invisible too." "You don't know how it feels to be treated like air, Camille. It's hard. Why did Mama die because of me?" They thought Dad had only one child. I was not seen on the Ultrasound because Camille allegedly covered me and when Mama took me out, she was out of breath. "It's not your fault at all. Other people's brains are just narrow, Luna. One day, he will realize that he's lucky to have a daughter like you." Camille said softly as she looked at the water. "Congratulations. You're going to be a Reyes." "Yeah." She laughed heartily. "Someday, I'm going to be free as a bird." I never asked her what she meant by that. When Dylan left, I watched his car until I could no longer see it. A few days passed and Camille was too busy arranging her wedding. We hardly see each other anymore because of the amount of work he does. While I do a lot of clothing designs because my customer needs to see that tomorrow. I drank almost a few coffees just to keep from falling asleep, because the deadline was small, and I still lacked the best design. I was sitting in front of my table and my eyes were already closing when my door opened, and Camille entered. I was drowsy. I looked at my watch and found that it was four o'clock in the morning and I was still not sleeping. "Hi," she says. "Why are you still up?" I yawned. She averted her gaze. "Uhm, because I just want you to sign something." I looked at the folder she was holding. "Huh? What?" "Ahm, I want to make you a partner in the new business I'm going to build. Uhm, just sign here." I held out my hand. "Give me." When I touched the folder I felt dizzy. Camille immediately approached me. "Sign that and go to sleep." "Wait, I'll read more." I searched for my reading glasses, but Camille stopped me. "Don't. I won't fool you because you're my sister. Just sign here," she says. I nodded and picked up the ballpen and signed it. I sparingly smiled at her and walked over to my bed. After two days I flew to the Cagayan De Oro to deliver the drafts. I scheduled flights on the day of Camille's wedding because that's the only available day. After all, it's peak season this December. When I entered the airport some passengers were upset due to the flight delay. I panicked because the ceremony would start in a few hours. I called Camille to tell her my situation "I'm sorry, Veronica Camille. I can't reach your wedding." I said tearfully. I didn't want to miss my only sister's wedding. But because I also didn't expect my plane to crash back to Bulacan. "What?!" "I'm sorry. My flight will be delayed." I’ve been walking around the airport a few times and been restless. "E-Even at the r-reception?" I bit my lower lip. "Sorry." "N-No, Luna. I-I'm the one who should apologize to you." Her voice was trembling. "Huh? Why? Did something happen?" "N-Nothing. All right. Be careful." "W-Wait—" "Bye, Luna." She says almost in a whisper. "Hey, wait!" She didn't wait for me to speak. I called her several times, but she isn’t answering the call. After Camille's wedding day, I boarded the plane. I travelled quickly to Bulacan. I paid for the taxi when I got to our subdivision. I walked towards the house. I opened the door and sighed when I saw Dad and Dylan in the living room. My face lit up. Dylan is still here so that means, Camille is here too. "Where's Camille?" Dad got up quickly and I was shocked when he threw the flower vase next to him at me, and I avoided it. I almost screamed in shock. "W-Why?" "You're still acting like you don’t know?! Where's Camille !?" I looked at Dylan. This was the first time he had raised his voice at me and was furious. "W-What? I don't know." I was so confused. Dad came up to me and touched my hair. I cried when I saw the anger in his eyes. "What did you tell her?!" He pulled me closer to where Dylan was. I winced at the pain I felt. Dad released me and pushed me to sit next to Dylan. I looked at Dylan. His eyes swelled as if he had just cried. "Don't you know better where she is? She's your wife." "No. She isn't." "H-Huh?" He showed me a paper. It was their marriage certificate. But I was even more surprised when I saw my name written on it and I signed it. "Tell me, Luna." Dylan touched my arms. I winced in pain. "Where is Camille and what does that mean?!" "I do not know!" I'm confused. Why are they so mad at me? "I'm also confused as to why my name is on the marriage certificate." "Bullshit!" Annoyed he says. "Come with me, and we'll check to see if I'm really at fault." We went somewhere and checked my signature there. When I found out it wasn't my signature, the marriage was null and void. "What's the result?" I was devastated to hear Dylan's authoritative voice. I bent down and straightened up in my seat. Facing us was a man who had checked my signature and a lawyer. "This is authentic. Miss Garcia, based on the strokes of your signature and your signature on the marriage certificate are identical." Said the professional who checked my signature. "H-How—" I swallowed. "Can't a marriage be annulled?" "Annulment." The attorney said we were invited as well. I looked at Dylan. I saw the anger in his eyes. His jaw was also furious. I suddenly remembered Camille coming into my room and someone signing my document. Is this the marriage certificate? "F*ck!" Dylan is very mad. "I have to get married to get Papa's inheritance for me! I did get married but not to the woman I love." I was hurt by what he said. "Let's have an annulment," I said. "It's not possible yet. According to the law, you can't file an annulment one day after being married." The lawyer took a deep breath and looked at Dylan. "Mister Reyes, don't you have to get your inheritance? Why don't you suffer a little first? You can file an annulment after you get your inheritance." "Damn it!" He stood up and left the conference room. I was startled by the loud closing of the door. My tears flowed. I feel so unwanted.

VERONICA LUNA GARCIA-REYES It was almost dawn and Dylan was still not coming home. The house we live in is not that big but we meet often. He leaves home early and goes home in the morning. He makes me feel like I’m not the one he wants to go home to in this house. I heard our door slam even though I was inside my room. I stood up on my bed and opened the door slightly. My body stiffened when he wasn’t the only one to come. A woman was hugging his waist and he was wearing almost a child's dress because of its shortness. This is his way of torturing me. "You're the only one living here?" The woman's beauty. "Nope. I have a maid here." Dylan responded and kissed the woman on her cheek. "Maybe she'll hear us when ..." Dylan kissed her neck. "I don't care. She doesn't matter." My chest tightened in pain at what Dylan had said. It wasn't my fault that Camille chose to leave him. Why can't they believe me? I left my room because I could hear the woman's moan from there. I went to the kitchen and spent time there. Camille, you're so damn selfish. I thought Dad was the only person who wouldn’t accept me, but here you are, and you added another one. When I returned to the living room, I saw Dylan and a slender woman downstairs. He holds the woman's waist. "Dylan, next time again huh?" The woman said softly. Dylan smiled. "Of course." I was just like air to them. It didn’t look at me until he had delivered the woman out of the house. I heard the woman's car leave. "Ahm, Dylan..." He looked at me coldly. "What do you want?" "C-Could you stop bringing all your bitches in this house?" I'm afraid to say that but I have to. I'm just a human being, I also have the right to be angry. "For as—" He grabbed my arm. His fingers were dipping so I winced. "My bitches? The only bitch in this house is you, Luna." The corner of my eye heats up. "I'm not a bitch." "Yeah, you're right. You're a pest that needs to vanish." He said, mercilessly. "Thank you and I still need you. When I get my inheritance, I will treat you worse than garbage." Garbage? "It's not my fault for losing her. I didn't poison Camille's mind. I didn't do anything." "Who are you kidding? Who would believe you? You know, Luna, don't play clean because you've been dirty for a long time." I couldn’t stop slapping him. Sometimes you also have to fight. Immediately his cheek turned red. I screamed when he pushed me hard. I sat down on the floor. "How dare you, a piece of trash, slap me?" He knelt. I moaned in pain as he touched my jaw. "You don't deserve this angelic face. You don't deserve anything in this world. So, Luna, go to hell!" He violently let me go. I shivered at the extreme pain I was feeling. I could not stand; the strength I had fled my leg. "Two days from now is the birthday of one of our board of directors." He says coldly. "The two of us were just invited but I'm the only one going. I'll just say you're sick. I don't want them to see you. You're embarrassing." "But my da—" He smirked. "Are you still hoping your father will ask anything about you?" I went up to my bedroom with tears in my eyes. I faintly sat up in my bed and stared at the letter Camille had left me. Luna, I'm sorry I did this horrible thing to you. I know you love Dylan. I can feel it. I want you to be happy. I know someday he will love you too. I'm not coming back anymore. I'm sorry. Camille Stupid Camille. She is the most selfish bitch I have ever met. He didn't even think about how Dylan and I would feel. And because of what he did, the important people around me hated me more. My chest tightened. I took the inhaler and put it in my mouth until I could breathe. I lay down on my bed. Why can't they listen to me? Why of all of us, am I the only one who can understand? Why do I love them so much that I can’t miss them? I went home early to cook Dylan dinner. I went out the door when I heard noises from outside. When I opened it, I was exposed to three cars parked outside our house. Dylan got out of his car. He looked at me coldly. Two men got out of the white car and two from the black car. "Oh. Here's your fake bride, Dylan!" The man said with braces on the tooth. Do they know? "Just ignore her," Dylan said as they walked into the house. One by one his friend brought in a large quantity of wine and laid it on the living room table. I was taken aback by the kind of looks Dylan’s friends had. I am currently washing the plates they used when someone pulled my arm. I saw Dylan, his cheeks flushed like he was drunk. "Dylan? Wait, why?!" He pulled me into the living room. All four of his friends are drunk as well. We stopped in front of her friends. I felt nervous. "Strip," Dylan said. "W-What?" "I said, strip." He said coldly. I tried to get out of his grip, but he just tightened up even more. "Oh, come on! We are bored! Why don't you entertain us? You're a whore, right?" "Dylan, heck! I don't! I'm not like that." I try to get rid of him. His friends approached me except for one who just sat on the sofa and drank beer while watching. One held my hand. "Wait, don't!" My system panicked. The man touched my jaw. He smiled scarily. "Please stay close. We know what you did to set up Dylan so don't act like you're clean." My tears flowed and I struggled with all my might. "Release me!" I was startled when someone grabbed my thigh. "Shit! She has porcelain skin. Good luck, Dylan." The man with the braces licked her lower lip. "Don't, please!" I looked at Dylan. His expression was blank as he held one of my hands. "Dylan, that's enough! Help me, please!" My knees trembled when I felt the kiss of the man with the braces on my neck. I avoided. I tried to walk away but Dylan and a man held my two hands. "Taste like a pearl." I beg to look at Dylan. His eyes widened. Help me, somebody. I cannot take it anymore. I sobbed louder and struggled. I felt Dylan lose my hand. He stopped the friend and pulled me away. "That's enough. She's too boring. Let's just call a professional whore." Said Dylan. I had a chance to escape so I immediately ran to my room and locked myself in there. My whole body trembled with fear. My knees were weakening so I fell on the carpeted floor of my bedroom. My tears flowed incessantly. Where is the good Dylan? I never thought I would get to the point in life that everyone would treat me like a toy. I keep crying. I feel so scared. I was startled when there was a knock on my door. I didn't open it. I cannot do it. "Luna?" It was Dylan. I was swallowed up in fear, so I did not answer. "That's enough, please," I whispered while sobbing. "Damn it." I heard nothing else after he said that.

LUNA I waited for Dylan to leave before I left my room. Until now, I still feel the fear caused by what happened last night. No one will protect me, so I have to be more careful. Now that I know that there is no hope that Dylan will appreciate me, I have buried my feelings for him. By noon I had left our house. It was a little afternoon. After all, I woke up because I didn't sleep well right away. I had to go to one of the branches of our Salon in Valenzuela. There was a problem there. I just concentrated on driving until I got to the Salon. When I entered, I was greeted by my employees. "Good afternoon, Ma'am Luna." They greeted. "Good afternoon. How are you?" I greeted them in return. I put my bag down on the table reserved for me. I was surrounded by my employees. Their faces are worried. "Oh, Ma'am. We're a little sluggish now. Our satisfaction rate has also dropped." I took a deep breath. "We can't please everybody, right? We'll just find a way. I'll think of solutions. As soon as possible." "Besides, it's September now. There are very few customers now but I'm sure that when December and January come, there will be a lot of makeovers." I added. They nodded. I looked at the door when its bell rang at the top, a sign that someone was entering or leaving. I saw a white woman enter. She was wearing leather shorts that further emphasized her long thighs and a pink hanging blouse. Its brown hair is wavy and shiny. "I need a trim." authoritatively she says when her gaze lands on me. I stopped trying to stand up when the bell rang again. My eyes widened. Dylan. He looked at me coldly and then he approached the woman who had just arrived. "Hey, babe. Why did you get out of the car?" Said the woman and hugged Dylan's waist. "I missed you," Dylan said softly and lowered his face. My hand went numb as their lips applied. Everyone looked at the two. The woman moaned as Dylan deepened the kiss. I covered my mouth so that my employee could not see the trembling of my lips due to the suppressed crying. I also cast spells a few times to hold back my tears. I also averted my eyes. Why does he have to make me look like he doesn't care how I feel? Why does he even have to make me look like I have no right to him? I fought once. Just included. I went to his office then. When I saw this woman kissing I scandalized and insulted the woman. The fruit? We lost one of the biggest deals of our company. I am at fault. If. Again. What's new? So often, I just pretend not to know even inwardly, very sick. I was scared to see my father and Dylan angry again. It was as if I was small in their eyes. "Wait. I'll trim my hair first." The woman pulled Dylan away weakly. She smiled and gave Dylan a quick kiss on the lips. The woman sat in the chair reserved here and was gently cared for by my employee. I look at Dylan from time to time. It sat and just stared at the woman. Neither turned to me it did not bother. I took a deep breath and bowed. Just a few minutes later the woman’s hair was trimmed. She stood up. Dylan also stood up and approached her. The woman hugged his waist. Dylan touched the woman's face and smiled. "Beautiful." I smiled bitterly. I would never hear that from him. I looked up as a bulk approached the front of my desk. I met Dylan's cold stare. I was swallowed. He dropped money on my desk. "Keep the change." I followed him with my gaze as he turned around. I watched how he put his hand on the woman's waist and how he kissed the woman's forehead. Until they came out I was still staring at the door they came out of. It's okay, Luna. Stop. My employees became noisy. They talked about the two coming out of the salon. He talked about how handsome Dylan was, the PDA of the two and how lucky the woman was with Dylan. My chest aches. I can’t tell them ‘Hey! That's my wife and she's hooked! Isn't that cool? '. Then what? Will they think my wife is so stupid and masochistic? I will not embarrass myself. "I-I need to go home. I'm feeling worse." I lied and went out. When I got home, I took my suitcase and put all my belongings there. If I don’t get rid of his powder he just keeps on hurting me. My heart could no longer bear what Dylan was doing. I loaded the suitcase into my car and checked into a hotel. Maybe he won't look for me, because I'm not important to him. I looked out the window and examined the lights from the surrounding building. Only now have I felt peace like this. I opened my tool to pick up the sketch pad, but it wasn’t there. Maybe I left it on my bed because I was in a hurry. I drove there, it was only seven o’clock, so Dylan was not there yet. When I parked my car I slowly went inside the house. As I climbed the stairs, I was surprised to see Dylan lying on the flooring near his bedroom door. I approached him immediately. "Dylan?" His every breath is heavy. When he didn't move, I touched its arm. His warm skin stung me. "You have a fever, Dylan." He stared and looked at me sharply. "'Don't touch me!' "I'll help you stand up." "I said—" He suddenly coughed. The second time I offered help, he accepted. When I got to the bedroom, I laid him down. I removed his shoe. But he stopped my hand as I attempted to remove his polo. "You need to get dressed. To make you comfortable." Maybe because of weakness he has given up. I was devastated to see his elegance. Is it hot? I get a white t-shirt in his cabinet. Fortunately, he cooperated so I quickly dressed him. "My head hurts." He moaned. "Have you eaten?" He shook his head. "Eat first before taking medicine." "Get out. I'll just sleep. Get out." He said coldly and covered his face with his arm. "Dylan..." "Leave my room!" He removed the arm and looked sharply at me. I took a deep breath and stood up. When I left the room, I went straight to the kitchen to cook it porridge. He needs to take medicine to make it easier to heal. I put the porridge in a bowl and placed it on the tray. I also put in water and medicine. I took it to Dylan's room. I put it on the table by the side of its bed and sat on its bed. I touched him. "Dylan, wake up." He stared and frowned. "Didn't I tell you to come out?" I took the hot porridge and showed it to him. "I c-cooked. Eat first then take medicine." "I do not want it." "Please, Dylan. You'll be fine." I insist on him. "I'll be fine if you get out of here. My head hurts more!" He said a bit loudly. "But, Dylan—" "I said I don't want to!" He suddenly shook the bowl with hot porridge. It spilt on my arm and thigh. I stood up and cried out in pain. He got up and looked at me angrily. "Shit! I warned you!" I ran to the comfort room and hurriedly opened the shower. I endured the pain as I soaked the burn in cold water. I also covered my thigh in the shower. I just close my eyes. My arm and thigh were red. After I soaked you in water, I came out of the bathroom. Dylan's cold stare at me. "Clean my room. It’s a mess!" After he said that, he turned around and sat on the sofa. "S-Sorry," I said tearfully. I went out and went down to the kitchen. Because of the light, the redness of my skin became even clearer. I took an ointment and blinked at the pain. When the pain subsided, I brought the basins with only water and rags. I carefully carried it to Dylan's room. I started wiping the cement. "Do it faster! I want a rest!" He said as he shook his head. "I'm sorry." "Next time, when I say I don't want to, I don't want to." He said coldly. I was trying to help him. The next thing I changed was the bedsheet that was also filled with porridge. I also changed the pillowcase and blanket. I endured the pain of my burned skin while cleaning his room. After I cleaned it, he went to bed right away. I came out with the basin and his bedsheet resting on my shoulder. I put the bedsheet in the laundry and then ate a little. Out of concern for Dylan, I sat on the edge of his door and wondered if he would wake up. I also put a glass with water by my side in case I needed it. I slowly opened his door. I peeked. I saw him rolling on the bed. Even though he was afraid he would get angry with me, I still approached him. I touched his forehead. Her fever got worse. I wiped the sweat off his forehead. I also turned down the air conditioner so it wouldn't get too cold. I was adjusting his blanket when he suddenly looked up. "Camille." I bit my lower lip. I'm not her. "Camille, you came back." His hand went up and landed on my cheek. "Y-You're not leaving me, are you?" I held Dylan's hand. I don't want to talk. I can see her longing to see and be with Camille. The expression in his eyes returned to the former Dylan I knew. Gradually its eyes closed. She is already asleep. "I'm sorry, Dylan." I carefully lowered his hand and kissed it. I took a pillow from its bed and sat on the sofa. Gradually drowsiness visited me. I was dazed by the sunlight hitting my eyes. I adjusted my seat and looked at Dylan. I was hesitant if I would touch him, but I chose to touch his forehead. "You're still hot." I got off and called delivery. When it arrived, I prepared it right away. I took it to Dylan's room. He was already sitting on the bed and looking coldly at me. "Ahm. Eat it. I called your favourite restaurant; I know you won't eat my food." "Just put it down." He says coldly. "Here's the medicine too," I said lowering the tray. When I turned to Dylan, he was looking at my arm. I hid that. "I-I'll be outside if you need me." "Luna." I stopped at the exit and looked at him. "It’s… It’s nothing. Get out." When I closed the door, my cellphone suddenly rang. I quickly snatched it out of my pocket. I hurriedly answered that when I saw who the caller was. "H-Hello, Pa?" "You are useless! You let Dylan get sick! That's all you have to do yet you didn't do it well." His angry voice came to me. "No. He just went home and dropped—" "You're still making excuses! The general meeting had to be cancelled! You're worthless! Neglect! A pest!" My tears fell from my eyes as I took all the painful words he threw at me. "P-Pa—" He didn't let me explain anymore. He immediately cut off the call. I took a deep breath and calmed the feeling. I caressed my burnt skin and asked myself, am I still flawed.

LUNA When I put all my leftovers in the bag, I put them on my shoulder. "Where are you going?" I stopped when I heard that cold voice. I slowly turned around. "I'm leaving, Dylan." He leaned on the door jamb. "You're staying at Hotel Vega, right?" My eyes widened. "How..." "How many times do I have to tell you?" He approached me and stood in front of me. "That if I'm going to hell, I'll take you with me." "I don't want to, Dylan." "It doesn't matter how you feel, Luna. I don't care. You will live here in this house, with me." This promise is weak but strong. "I'm scared of things you can still do to me. You treat me like trash, your friends almost raped me— I don't know, Dylan. I'm tired." I couldn’t stop sobbing. His gaze went to my arm again. I winced as he gently touched it. I just watched his expression change. But before long his face went blank again and let go of my hand. "I've already called the hotel. They'll deliver your stuff here tomorrow." "Dylan, this isn't right anymore." "The pain you feel cannot compare to what I felt when she broke up with me." After he said that he left my room. Two days later I was surprised when he invited me to a business party and bought me a dress. That was the first time I received something from him. "Come on, Luna. Don't let Papa embarrass us." Dylan said emphatically to me as we entered the hotel where the business party was being held. All investors, business partners and directors were there at the party so we shouldn’t get lost. They said they wanted to meet the wife of Reyes' only heir because some of them did not attend the wedding. After all, Dylan had recovered from his fever two days ago, the doctor allowed him to go to the party. I just nodded here and put my left hand on his arm. I took a deep breath to calm my aching heart. I only touch Dylan once but it gets worse when my heart speeds up. As soon as we entered, many people approached Dylan. They greet and say hello. Dylan slowly removed my hand from his arm unnoticed by his interlocutors. I put my hands on my side and smiled hard at those who were talking to me so that I seemed to be listening even though I could not understand what they were talking about. The gaze of an elderly man fell on me. One side of its lip rose and engulfed my whole being. "You must be..." "I'm Luna, Sir." I reached out one of my hands here to shake hands, but he took it and put it on his lips. Ew. This is disgusting. "You have a very stunning wife, Mr Reyes." He says that it doesn't take his eyes off me. Dylan just smiled at him and the attention returned to the interlocutors. I looked at the man again and he was still looking at me. The feathers rose because of what I could see in his eyes. I looked up at Dylan but he didn't care even though I was already staring into the man's eyes. I hid a little behind Dylan to hide half of my body. I relaxed as Dylan said goodbye to them to go to the two adults sitting near us. I followed Dylan as he walked towards it. We sat down and the three started talking. They are married. And they have been married for thirty years. The sweetness of the two of them is still obvious. What will my future be with Dylan if Camille doesn't come back? I took a deep breath and looked at Dylan while smiling at his interlocutor. He doesn't look at me, he doesn't talk to me, but I know he feels for me. "Mrs Reyes? Luna?" Dylan nudged me weakly and looked sharply. I slumped in my seat. "H-Huh?" "Pay attention, Luna. Damn it." Dylan whispered. Just enough for me to hear. "S-Sorry." I cleared my throat and looked at the couple. "Ah, I'm sorry?" "Business talk bores you, hija?" Said the lady. "Ah, No. Not really." I answered quickly. "She finished Business Administration, Mr Martinez." Dylan groaned. I bowed. Camille graduated with a B.A. I am a designer, like Mama. Cam didn't like B.A., Papa just forced her because he would inherit all his property. I also have an heir but, can I still expect big? Dad thinks I'm stupid because I just finished designing. "That's wonderful!" Said the gentleman. Suddenly a gentle song rang out. "Oh, wait... Nice song. Excuse us." "Invite your wife to dance too, Dylan." The lady said as she stood up to dance with her husband. Dylan just nodded and smiled. They stood up and Dylan left us. Then Dylan stood up and left me without saying a word. It went to a pile of businessmen. I took a deep breath. What else can I expect? Will she be sweet to me here at the party? It's not bad to assume, is it? I also got up and started walking inside the hotel. I have talked to other women I think is approachable. Since designing is what I finished, I gave them advice on what matters to them or what 'they don't wear. The others are offended but the others are just fine with them. I said goodbye to my interlocutor and went out of the hotel. There is a gazebo and there are small falls in the middle, so it looks cold in the place. I stood at the falls and watched the waterfall there. It’s relaxing to look at that. I looked up at the sky. Nice! Full moon. "Nice. It's a full moon." Someone with a baritone voice spoke behind me. I looked at it. My eyes widened as I recognized the man who owned the voice. "Y-You— When— Since... What?!" He smiled at my reaction. "Good evening to the most stunning lady right in front of me." "I'm the only woman in front of you right now, Skyler." Yes, he's here. Finally. Skyler. It's been a long time. He inserted one hand into the pocket of his slacks. "I know ten years's been a long time but I figured you'd wait for me." I averted my eyes from it. "Let us not talk about the past, Skyler." "You've never changed, my love. You're still the warm-hearted girl I loved and still love. I can feel it." I was alarmed as he slowly approached where I was. I cannot understand myself. I can’t move my feet away from it. "Sky." I sighed when he hugged me tightly. "I missed you so much." "Don't, Sky." I tried to push him. "I'm married—" "You're married to Dylan Reyes. I know." He moved a little away from me. He used his index finger to lift my face and line our eyes. "You love him?" Although I was shocked by what he said, I recovered immediately. "Yes. But he— it's a long story, Skyler. I-I need to go back." I was about to pass him, but he suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me in front of him again. I saw the sadness in his eyes. "You forgot about me? Didn't I say I'll get back to you? Why can't you wait, Luna?" I bowed. "I-I saw you forgot about me too." I heard it had a girlfriend there. Sometimes I called him, and his Manager Shaun answered my call and told me that he has a new girl named. At first, I didn’t believe it. But one day I just watched it on television with a woman, it had a lot of pictures with the woman. One of them shocked me, the photo of them kissing. At the same time, we lost communication. "How can I forget the only girl I fell in love with?" I averted my eyes from him. "I-I fell out of love, Sky." "Yeah. I can see that." He says sarcastically. "Sky—" "You looked lonely. You seem to cry anytime. Let me guess, your father?" He touched both my cheeks and looked me straight in the eyes. Comfort. This is what I have been looking for for a long time and now I just felt it again. In Skyler's arms. I felt a familiar warmth. Only now did I notice how much I missed Sky. I suddenly hugged him. My tears flowed automatically. Ever since it disappeared, I have had nothing to pour out of resentment, nothing to comfort me. I miss my best friend. "I'm sorry. I ruined your suit." I laughed said while holding the polo part of it. I walked away from here and turned around to fix myself. When I faced the doorway, he was looking at me intently. Even if it doesn't speak, I can see its astonishment. It was looking at my arm that was still a little red from the rupture. It turns out that the makeup I put there is gone. It's not so painful anymore! I hid it behind me. He opened his mouth, but I preceded him in speaking. I sneezed. "Sky, I need to go back. M-Maybe Dylan is looking for me." "When can I see you again?" He said seriously and held my hand. "I don't know, Sky. Please, let me go." "I have my ways, Luna. I'll have you again," he said determinedly and let go of my hand. I turned away from it. "I waited for you, Sky. But I can't wait that long. I'm sorry." I said before going inside again. Admit it, we will never be the same. When I entered, I went straight to the comfort room to retouch. My make-up was messed up because I cried earlier. I let my guards down. Damnit! But it's just Skyler, isn't it? He understands. No one inside. They are likely busy talking or dealing with others. It's only a once in a lifetime opportunity to be invited to parties like this. There are many recognizable tycoons all over the world. I heard the woman growled. Am I haunted? When I looked at the far cubicle it was obvious there were two people there. What the heck! Go to the comfort room. No manners! Didn’t they know it was a public toilet? Grabe! How can they say— "Oh, Dylan..." I stiffened because I heard the woman's name moan. I quickly locked the comfort room door before anyone else could enter. Is it up to here? Does he no longer choose a place? Finally, the door of such a cubicle also opened. First came out the woman with messy hair and make-up. I stood up straight as the man followed. I was no longer surprised. He was even more surprised to see me, but his expression immediately returned to the cold. "Oh. It's your wife." She said as its eyes hovered all over me. It went in with the mirror and fixed itself. "See you, Dylan." Dylan did not speak. It just nodded. Take it out. I sneezed and took a deep breath. "I-I'll just wait for you outside." "Wait." I stopped and faced it. "Why?" "Fix my necktie." He commanded. I looked at its necktie removed from the tie. I came over here and started fixing that. I kept our distance. As much as possible, don't let it stick to me. Every human patience has a limit. "Why do you seem to hate me? Come closer, Luna." He grabbed my arm, but I immediately removed his hand from there. His eyebrows met. I hastened to fix its necktie and then turned away. Even before I could get out it pulled my arms and pressed me against the wall. "Let me go, Dylan!" I'm sick of it. "You're fighting now, huh?" he says angrily. I could smell the wine on his breath. "Get your filthy hands off me! You disgust me!" Sometimes we must fight because the pain is too much. He smirked. "Filthy, huh?!" "Let me go, Dylan! It hurts" "You just saw your man and became brave." Eyes widened. "How—" "You thought I didn't see it?" He laughed sarcastically. I was scared to see the anger in his eyes. "Sto—" He touched my hair. I almost closed my eyes when I felt my scalp tingle. "When someone else sees you, you will ruin my reputation and I will drag you deeper in hell. Do you understand?! What is your answer?" "Yes. Please, let me go." I beg you. "Good." He left me and went back to the party. I adjusted myself. My tears still flow when I remember what Dylan did. I felt my chest tighten so I immediately took my inhaler inside the purse. When I came out, I immediately looked for Papa. He was talking to Dylan. My whole body went cold when the eyes of the two landed on me. Dylan smiled and approached me. I shuddered when he touched me. "Scared? That's good." Though trembling with fear I let it touch me. I smiled hard as we got closer to where Dad was. "H-Hi, 'Pa." I can see in his actions that he is just forced to hug me. "If you meet your man, make sure no one sees you. You're embarrassing me." He whispered loudly in front of my ear. My eyes widened. I stayed away from him. "N-No, Pa. I can explain—" "Did anyone else see them, Dylan?" "No more. Just the Sandoval couple." Dylan replied and gave me a sharp look. "You see that?! It's better not to be taken to events like this. Even Dylan's last name, you're taking it down!" He said in an angry voice. Fortunately, there aren't too many people around us because they're starting to turn around. "That's enough, 'Pa. I'll take care of him." Dylan stopped. Dad took a deep breath and swallowed his senses. "That's good. That woman will kill me."

LUNA My body ached when I woke up. And I’m still wearing my gown I wore last night. I got up and changed my clothes then sat down on my bed again. When we arrived last night, my mind and body were very tired. Why do I have to love Dylan like this? He doesn't worth my love, my tears, even my soul! But why him? Please. Answer me, Heart. Why do you still love him? Why can't we hate him? Why is he still the one you're beating even though he's hurting us?! I was startled when there was a sudden knock on my door. I stood up and slowly opened it. Dylan's blank face flashed at me. Isn't he in today? My damned heart is here again. It throbbed fast again. I averted my gaze. He cleared his throat. "You have a visitor. It's downstairs." I nodded. "Okay." He nodded as well and turned away. I went out and closed my bedroom door. I followed it. I want to hold it and hug it, but I have no right. He is not mine. I'm just up to paper. I collided on his back when he suddenly stopped. I immediately took a step back when he turned around. "I-I'm sorry." I would have been ready to catch his wrath. "It's okay." I almost gasped because this was the first time, he said it was okay. He didn't hit me or give me a sharp look. Even though its face was blank, I was still surprised by what it said. His forehead furrowed as I stared at him intently. I averted my gaze and bit my lower lip. I was just amazed because he knew the word 'okay'. He cleared his throat and looked to the front. I followed what it was looking at. Draw a smile on my lips when I see who it is. The woman is now sitting on the sofa in the middle of our living room. Even though she has dark glasses I was still able to identify her. It stood up. I automatically ran to her and hugged her. "Aunt Vivian! What a pleasant surprise!" I said happily. She reciprocated with a hug. "I missed you, honey." Aunt Vivian is Dad’s only sister, I’m close to her. She was Camille and I's mother because she was so smart. Because this is my escape when my dad scolds me when I was a child, she also takes care of me. "Y-You came back." My voice almost trembled when I said that. I missed her so much. "Of course! I found out about your sister. Your father told me. Why did she leave without letting me know? Oh my! That sister of yours is very active. She can't stay at one place." Auntie doesn’t know why Camille left and about the wedding. Didn't Dad tell him? Probably, because they might get angry again. I would rather keep quiet than be the cause of their anger again. Aunt Vivian thinks everyone is fair, that's why I love her so much. She treats you even if you are a farmer. Because for her, the existence of every single creature is important. I took a deep breath and smiled sadly at her. "I missed you, Auntie. You don't know how much I missed you." "Oh. Me too, my dearest." She hugged me but also immediately moved away a bit. "Anyway, you looked terrible. Why?" "Oh. Ahm." I don't know what to answer here. I bit my lower lip and averted my eyes from it. I saw Dylan watching my Aunt and me. His stare is cold. I was devastated when our eyes met. My gaze returned to Aunt Vivian. "Auntie, I'm cleaning my room— our room." "Oh, is that so? You should just get an assistant." She turned to Dylan and smiled. "What do you think, Dylan?" "N-No, Auntie. I can—" "I agree." He simply says and came to us. My heart started beating faster. I was surprised when he hugged me. Thank goodness that Aunt Vivian didn't miss that. "I also don't want my wife to have a hard time, Tita." I looked up at him. "No, Dylan. I-I can do it." I know it's just acting and not everything he says is true. He squeezed my shoulder softly. "I insist. I'm your husband. I should just give you everything you need." I was speechless at what he said. Why even though it's acting my heart is still beating fast and I seem to want to hope that's true. Tsk! Goodbye! "How sweet!" I looked at Auntie. Her hands clasped and Dylan and I smiled. "Oh! Before I forgot. I invite you to come to my Resort Blessing in Batangas." "Resort?" "Yes! Isn't that cool! Villa Narcissu already opened!" She giggled. "Besides, your two cousins also will come home from Japan, Luna. They want to see you." "Kristian and Trey? They're here! Oh, goodie!" I beamed. When Auntie left, my two cousins were with me. I used to play with them, and we were close to each other. "When will they arrive, Auntie?" "Tomorrow. So, come to the resort." Tita replied. Suddenly my smile also dissolved. Maybe Dylan has a meeting tomorrow or something is scheduled. "U-Uhm, Auntie, my husband might—" "We will go." Dylan's immediate response surprised me. "R-Really?" "Yes." He says coldly. To my great excitement, I couldn’t even restrain myself from embracing it. "Thank you. Thank you." When my excitement subsided, I only realized that my hug with Dylan had lasted. I was about to go away when he wrapped his hand around my waist so I couldn't get away. My heart was beating Spartan again. "It's okay." He whispered in my ear. I swallowed because his hot breath hit my ear. My hair stood on end as well. What's going on? Why even though I knew it was just acting, I couldn’t help but think that it would have been true. Dylan's gentle hug with me. The touch of his warm palm on my shoulder earlier. This is how it feels to be embraced by Dylan Caden Reyes. The sweetness of the feeling. I have been dreaming of this for a long time. To hold and hug Dylan. Shit! Why when I want to forget him then he made me feel it. My system keeps going crazy. I want more. I just want us to be like this. When will that happen? Can I stop the time first so that I can feel it even more? How many years have I wished this had happened? I like to think that is true. Please, just for now, let me think that everything he shows is true. "It's okay. Your auntie's watching." Even before my illusion began, Dylan ended it immediately. He just wanted to hug me because my aunt was watching. Is he okay or am I just assuming? "You're heartless, Dylan," I whispered. I cast spells several times to hold back the tears. It's embarrassing if I cry in front of Tita Vivian. "I know. You don't have to tell me."

LUNA Dylan and I left the house early in his private helicopter. He said he didn't want to drive for a long time. Or maybe he just doesn't want to be with me for long. The helicopter landed at the resort helipad. Dylan went down first and I followed. When I came down, I was immediately greeted by Aunt Vivian's hug. He kissed me on the cheek. "Hello, Dear! I'm so glad you two made it!" "Of course! I don't want to disappoint my beautiful Aunt." I said while hugging her back. "Let's go inside. It's hot. Shocks! My armpit is already crying." He released me and then dragged me inside his hotel. Dylan quietly followed us. Tita took us to the Chapel, in a few minutes the mass would begin. We just sent the things to Bell Boy to take to our room. Aunt Vivian first left us in a chair because her friends called her. Next to me was the quiet priest and Dylan. "Lulay?!" I looked back because that's where the voice came from. My face lit up as I recognized who the two men were waving at me. "Christian! Trey!" I shouted. I got up and quickly went to where the two were. I hugged the two at the same time because I could no longer reach their necks. "I missed you both!" I heard them laugh and hugged me back too. "We missed you, too, Lulay," Trey whispered to me. "We found out about Cammy's departure. We miss her, too. Why did she leave without saying goodbye? What was she thinking?" I shook my head to find out that I also didn't know what was on Camille's mind. I buried my face in Trey's chest. I can’t tell them the situation. Dad might even ruin that. Especially Dylan, I know he doesn’t want to spread what happened when he got married. We both miss her. He took a deep breath and hugged me even tighter. We parted and then lightly pinched my cheek. It smiled. "She'll be fine, okay? It's Mama's party, we shouldn't be sad." I nodded. Kristian and Trey are twins. I was two years older than them. We have racial twins. But they are not identical unlike Camille and me. The only difference between Camille and me is the mole, I have a small mole on my forehead and Camille doesn't. They grew up with me. So of all my cousins Trey and Kristian are the closest to me. The two were seven years old when they left the country. I slowly walked away with a sneeze. I confronted Dylan. His forehead was furrowed, and one hand was rubbed. I went to the centre and started to introduce it to each other. "Uhm, cousins, this is Dylan Caden Reyes. M-My husband." "We haven't heard of you getting married. Or you just didn't invite us." Trey's voice was tinged with sullenness. Kristian, on the other hand, just watched Dylan as if examining it. "Uh... No. What—" A warm hand touched my shoulder. "I'm sorry if we didn't invite you. We were in a hurry. You know that." Dylan's hand dropped to my waist and pulled me closer to him. I rested both my hands on its hard chest. He looked me straight in the eye as he continued speaking. "Because we want to get married right away." I could hear my heart beating fast. I was the first to look away. I pressed my lower lip and when I looked at my cousins, I smiled but it was out of sight. No! Enough! I should never fall into his trap. I should no longer feel hopeless that our organization would work out. I know, he's just acting because my cousins are in front of us. But why can't I stop my abnormal heartbeat? Trey smiled and then held out his hand to Dylan. "Trey." Dylan released me and then accepted Trey's hand. He nodded and then resigned. "Kristian." No emotion says, Kristian. Dylan accepted her hand. I noticed Kristian squeezing Dylan's hand. While one was also watching Kristian intently. "You break her heart; I break your face. And I'll make sure surgeons can't even fix it." One side of Dylan's lip rose. Oh, no. "Are you still playing soccer, Trey?" I said to relieve the tension with them. Trey's smile widened. It has also lost its attention on the two. Dylan and Kristian's hands had also parted but they were still not done giving sharp looks. I bit my lower lip and looked back at Trey. "Yep! I'm with my co-player. Where is that fool?" He was looking for something behind me so I turned around as well. "Skyler!" My body stiffened when he mentioned the name of his companion. It can't be. My chest throbbed, even more, when a man turned to our habit and started walking. Skyler. I looked at Trey again with my hands clasped. From my peripheral vision, Trey shouldered Skyler. "Come here, brother. Make me brag to my cousin!" I bit my lower lip and thought about how I would deal with it. "Hi, Luna." My hair stood on end when he mentioned my name. I took a deep breath. I closed my eyes tightly to relieve my nervousness. Then he stared and faced them. I winced when our eyes met. "L-Long time no see, Skyler." Trey was shocked. "You knew each other? How—" "She's here, Trey." Sky said calmly while not taking his eyes off me. I frowned at what he said. What does he mean? Is he telling me about my cousin? "What?! He's your ex that you still love so much, and you just left to fulfil your dream?! Lulay is the one you said you would come back and take back?! The ex that you said you would marry?" Silence reigned after Trey spoke. No one wants to speak. I bowed. I didn’t want to meet Sky’s warm gaze. His hand was bent as if restraining himself. I can't look at Dylan either. Now that Skyler is here, what hurtful words will he say to me later? "Awkward." I heard Kristian say. We probably grabbed the attention of the two to interrupt they are giving sharp looks. I was startled when a hand wrapped around my waist. I looked up to see who owned that hand. I saw Dylan's tough look. It looked sharply at Skyler. Its jaw also moves. I was devastated when his gaze landed on me. "Uhm..." I couldn't continue what I was going to say because Aunt Vivian had already appeared. "Children, let's go to our place. The mass is about to begin." Dylan pulled me in when Aunt Vivian turned around. I gasped as it slammed into Skyler's shoulder. It was breathing heavily so I just chose to keep quiet rather than fight because of what it did to Skyler. We sat in the front row. Aunt Vivian was in the first seat, her two children next to her, and then Skyler was seated next to Trey. I was about to sit next to Sky when Dylan pulled me. It sat in the empty seat next to Sky and I was on its side. I just kept quiet until the mass started. "Give peace to each other. Peace be with you." The priest said cheerfully. "Peace. Peace be with you." I smiled greeting the people sitting in the back row. They also reciprocated the greeting. I turned around again and looked at Dylan's behaviour. I sneezed to get its attention and I didn't fail there. I looked away from him or her. "P-Peace be with you, Dylan." "Yeah." His head dipped down before I could move. My eyes widened, my lips parted, and he caught the gasp that escaped my throat. Bombs exploded in my head. Fire rushed along with my nervous system. "'Peace be with you, too." He has returned the gaze to the front. My hands rose to my lips. I can't believe this. He kissed me. I don't know how many minutes I was stunned because of what he did. My cheeks warmed because I knew many saw what Dylan did. After all, we were ahead. Before I could face him, I noticed a man peeking at my behaviour. Skyler. The sadness can be read on its face. I felt guilty because I knew I was the one who did it. I swallowed before he smiled but it didn't reach my eyes then I faced the Altar again. The mass ended. I kissed Aunt Vivian. We follow the priest to every place he blesses. Mama led the other guests to the buffet table. I felt someone hold my hand. I turned to see who it was. I stopped walking. I looked at the hands we were holding and then turned around. Dylan probably didn’t notice that because he was talking to businessmen. "Luna." I looked up at him. I swallowed before answering. "Sky—" I couldn't even continue answering because my hands were holding my waist. Dylan pulled me away from Skyler, but Skyler's grip tightened on my hand. It glared at Skyler's hand that was still holding my hand. I resigned myself. I cringed when I saw the sadness in Skyler's eyes again. "Let's go, Luna," Dylan said sternly. We were about to turn around, but Dylan faced Skyler again. One side of his lip lifted. "Don't be pathetic. She's mine, don't force yourself on her." "Why did you tell Skyler that, Dylan?!" I said as he pulled me into the uncrowded place. "Shut the fuck up, Luna. I've been annoyed with you before." Each time he pressed his word, he pressed his hand on my arm. I just wince. He pressed me against the wall and then placed his hand on either side of me. I was ready to shout it but that I swallowed it too because I noticed how close its face was to me. It's like I'm small because of what it did. I swallowed as his gaze dropped to my lips. I immediately read my lower lip. What will I do when he kisses me again? Our eyes met. I saw the hardening of his form. "He's the one you talked to at the party, right? Tsk! Don’t flirt around, will you?" My eyebrows met at what he said. "Skyler isn't doing us any harm." "You're attracting him!" His jaw moved a sign that he was angry. I close my eyes tightly and stare. Annoying! "You're delusional, Dylan. If I were you, I'd go to church every day." I narrowed my eyes at him. I pushed him hard and adjusted my clothes to get out of him. I swallowed a few times to keep my tears from flowing. "It's not like you're thinking about obscenity!" I almost gasped when his palm touched my cheek. "You're becoming combative, Luna. I'm going to miss your weakness." "Because I'm fed up with your oppression of me. I have my brain, you don't have to control me!" When I said that, I turned around. My hands are bent as I walk away from it. Why can't I hate him? I chased Aunt Vivian to the gazebo, just a few minutes later Dylan followed. We ignored each other until after the blessing. I didn't even see Skyler until after that. We were invited to go to the Buffet Table for lunch. I was surprised when Dylan pulled the chair for me. I smiled at him, but it didn't reach my eyes. "All right kids, let's eat a lot. Dylan and Luna, you still have a long way to go." Said Aunt Vivian. She chose to join us at the table because she said, 'Family first' and later she would gossip with her friends at another table. "We're okay, Auntie," Dylan replied as he sliced the meat that was on his plate. "Oh, Skyler, why aren't you stirring your food? Didn't you like cooking?" I looked at Skyler's behaviour. He was seated in front of me. He pierces the broccoli. "I'm okay too, Auntie." He looked at me. I can see the longing in his eyes. I bit my lower lip. "I'm just thinking." "Oh, whoever you're thinking right now, she's so lucky," Auntie said then poured the food into this spoon. I stared at Kristian as he cleared his throat and then smiled foolishly. I felt Dylan's warm palm on my hand on the table. Even though I love the heat of it, I still need to be steady, I don't want her to know that with every touch she makes me weak. I secretly lowered my hand and placed it on my lap. "Uhm, Auntie, did you not invite Dad?" I just want to change our topic. Then I also noticed Dad wasn’t there, while Aunt Vivian said she would call it quits. "Oh, he can't go and he's going to Australia. Business. He's just doing a job. Since Avery died..." She cleared her throat and then smiled again. I know she doesn’t want to talk about my Mom because of Camille and me. She no longer wants us to be sad and orphaned by the love of a mother. "Let's just eat." After lunch, Aunt Vivian and I talked about how she thought of building a resort. And as well as the beautiful places it has seen in the countries it has visited. I can see again the sparkle in its eyes that the man who left him took. Dylan and I said goodbye that we would just get dressed and relax a bit. We left early and were still tired from the trip. We went to our room. None of us spoke. I don’t walk with Dylan, I’m always ahead of it. But I can still feel its warm gaze behind me. When I entered our room, I immediately went straight to his bedroom carrying the suitcases that Bell Boy had placed on the side of our door. I laid it on the bed and then removed the clothes from it. I was no longer surprised when Tita told me that there was only one room, I already knew where I would sleep. On the Sofa, where else? We have no mercy on me, Dylan, he doesn't want me to be around. I heard the door open. "Get dressed first," I said coldly while not looking at him. I got up then went to where the door was. I was about to leave but Dylan blocked the door. I looked at it curiously. "Okay." It closed the door behind it. And then one by one the polo button was removed. I was surprised when he took it off in front of me.

"W-What— Let me out." Confused I said. I gazed up at him in admiration as he threw his shirt onto the floor. His chest was well-built, with a small spattering of hair, and his six-pack looked like something from a fitness magazine. "Why?" What?! "I'm going out. Y-You're blocking the door." I averted my gaze because of the intensity I could see in his eyes. What is he doing? And most of all, what is his intention?! I can't read him, damn it! "Fine! I'll just turn around." I shuddered to turn away from it. If that's what he's up to, I can't give it up. I don't want him to think he's my weakness. I need to fight my feelings for him. But why is my body screaming differently? He wants me to face Dylan and whatever it wants to happen. I shook my head to clear my mind of its imperfect body. I stiffened when something warm and soft stuck to my shoulder. I sighed when I felt his breath in my ear. "You're so cold to me." I dealt with him quickly. "W-What—" His lips sealed over mine. His mouth covered mine, stopping any more words from getting out. I don’t know who pushed me to turn a blind eye and put both my hands on its shoulders. I had to push him, but I couldn’t. I melt in his arms. His arms wrapped around my waist and pressed even harder on me. Why is he doing this to me? Is he punishing me? He pressed me against the wall the closer our bodies were. It lowered the strap of my dress. Why am I responding to his touch?! God, I'm dying for his touch! I don’t know how many times I thought about when I would handle Dylan like this? His kiss felt on my neck, I moaned at the bite he made there. I tugged at his hair and it tightened even more as he came down to my collarbone. He stopped kissing me and then stared me in the eyes. My cheeks get hot. We both gasped. Is this a dream come true? Am I starting to have a space in her heart? A corner of his lips lifted and looked down at my chest. "That's okay. So, Skyler knows where he's going." I was confused by what he said. He walked away but he was still staring at me seriously. I looked at myself in the mirror just near the door. My eyes widened when I saw the red hickeys on my neck and chest. I blushed in anger. "You son of a b*tch!" I would come over here and be slapped if Dylan hadn’t just caught my hand. "No, Luna. You're the bitch." He said. Even though I was hurt by what he said, I didn't notice. "That's just a sign, even if I don't like you. You're still mine." "Get your hands off me, Dylan!" I forcefully withdraw my hands. Dylan let go of my hands but immediately grabbed my arm. "You love me 'don't you? If you love me, you'll follow everything I want!" How did he find out about how I felt about him? "You think, I don't know about that? I read the letter Camille left for you." I was shocked at what it said. "Did you come into my room?" "That room is part of my house. I'll do everything I want to do with my property." I was so bitten on my lower lip. "I know you'll never love me back." "You're right." This promise is weak. "I'm not forcing myself on you. I've given up on you, Dylan. I'm just waiting for the day when you release the annulment papers so you can leave and find Camille. She's the one you love, I'm just her substitute. " I bent down and said, tears quickly dripping from my eyes. This is the first time Dylan and I have talked in such a long time. Its grip on my arm gradually loosened. "You're not her substitute. I've never looked at you that way." I looked up. "Huh?" "You cry a lot. You're clumsy. You don't know how to stand for yourself. You know how to cook, it was delicious." He ate the food I made for him. "You're a total opposite of her. Which is why I won't fall in love with you."

VERONICA LUNA GARCIA-REYES I sat on top of the king-sized bed while waiting for Dylan to come out of the bathroom. I took a deep breath and looked at the bathroom door it entered. It looks like he has no intention of going out yet, so I got dressed first. After I got dressed, I sat on the bed again. I looked up as the bathroom door opened. I was swallowed. The only thing he was wearing was black boxer short. He wipes his wet hair with a towel. My eyes dropped to his bare chest, a few drops of water dripping there. I averted my eyes as he walked closer to me. "Uhm, Dylan." What can I say? Shit! He took the clothes I had prepared for him. I prepared that while he is taking a bath. "Rest now, Luna." I hugged a pillow and got up from the bed. He raised an eyebrow. "Where are you going?" "In the living room. That's where I'll sleep." I say weakly. He pulled me closer to him until we were just a ruler away from each other. As my heartbeat quickened as I met his gaze. "Why? You'll sleep here." He released me and passed. I looked at him. "Where are you sleeping?" It stopped when I spoke. "I can handle myself." He said as he remained behind me. Is he acting? My Aunt and cousins are not here, there’s no point to act kind and caring. I lowered the pillow and blanket I was holding on the bed and then stood up properly again. "Dylan," This time, he turned to face me. His serious face remains. I stabilized my voice. "They're not here. Stop acting like you're flirting with me." A corner of his lips lifted. He showed me his demonic smile again. "Luna, I cared for you because I need you and not the other way around. You remember my father's will, right?" "Dylan, you're not like this when we first met." "When can I wreck the walls, you build around you?" I couldn't stop my voice from shaking. "You can't. I won't let you." He says coldly and I lowered my head. All I could do was watch him walk out the door. I was horrified when he closed that loudly. I lay down on the bed and then covered my eyes. Maybe out of exhaustion, drowsiness visited me immediately. - When I opened my eyes, the darkness of the horizon opened up to me. But I could see a little because there was light outside. I stretched before standing up. I went to the bedroom mirror; I was amazed at the beauty of the surroundings. The moon went round, and round and the stars shone in the sky. The ocean glows under the moon. I felt relieved to see the beauty of it. My eyes went down on the shore of the sea there were people rejoicing. Maybe that was one of Tita's parties. Suddenly I remembered that Tita had invited us there. I immediately closed the curtain and then started getting dressed. I just put on shorts and a white sleeveless shirt and left the room. I slowly closed the door so Dylan wouldn't wake up. He was lying on the sofa bed. I entered the room again and picked up the blanket. I slowly closed the door and went to where Dylan was. I covered it, fortunately, he didn't wake up. I sat in front of it then silently stared at its peaceful face. Now I just stare at Dylan like this. Only now did I find out that his eyelashes are long. His red lips touched my lip earlier. I hope the day comes when you love me too. I was probably the happiest person when that happened. I smiled bitterly. It's not bad if I ask, is it? I got up. I will never wake him again. I'll just show Tita, I'll just say Dylan is asleep. He will understand me. Then I also want to forget now. It's like I want to drink, get drunk. It's like I want to experience how those who don't care about the problem. I huddled with people to find them, Trey. I saw him with... Skyler. I took a deep breath before approaching them. Trey smiled when he saw me approaching. "Cousin! Why doesn't your hubby seem to be gone?" He put his arm around me. "Lover’s quarrel?" I shook my head then smiled. "He's asleep. I let him go first. Maybe later, he'll be here." "Okay! It's a party!" He released me and then took a woman walking in front of us on his shoulders. He dropped the beer on the table then took the woman to the dance floor. The woman didn't even complain about what Trey had done. I was shaken by what Trey did. Boys are boys. I immediately saw Kristian; this woman was also dancing. He looked up while shouting. They seem to be enjoying it. I took a deep breath. Skyler didn’t leave my side. "Do you want someone to talk to?" I heard Skyler say. I looked at him. I was greeted by his chocolate eyes that when looked at you were piercing. It is as if by the time you look into his eyes you have no choice but to obey his commands. "You know me, don't you?" I said smiling. But I know he noticed it was fake. Skyler and I also spent a few years together. I know he knows me very well when I have a problem. "But, there's only one I want to talk to. Wine." One of his eyebrows rose. "You don't drink, Luna." I laughed heartily. "How did you know? It’s been years, Skyler Madrigal." "Luna—" I raised one hand to stop it from saying. I bent down and then grabbed a beer from the cooler on its side. There are coolers scattered around. There is no booth set up here because it is an open area. My variety of wine inside. But I only chose the mild one. When I got there, I walked to a place where there weren't many people. I have already found it. That's not that far from where the party is taking place. When I found the right place, I sat on the sand. I felt the cold and fine sand on my thighs. I opened the beer and peacefully watched the waves. I want to forget. Even just for a moment. Just a moment. I felt someone beside me. I didn’t look back at that because Skyler knew that. "If I can't stop you, I'll just sympathize with you." He said while also looking at the sea. All that could be heard was the less loud noise from the Party. I sipped the wine I took, drawing the intense chisel down my throat. I almost coughed when I sucked on it. Eventually, I got used to that taste. When I thought, I was going to run out of that, I already felt dizzy. But I still can't get Dylan out of my mind. Why? It is just my brain and the one that wants to forget. Not my heart. Skyler understands me. I feel guilty that I hurt him. "Skyler, I— Can you—" I took a deep breath and looked at it. "Forgive me." He also turned to me. His beauty was further enhanced by the impact of the moonlight on his face. "Why? Did you do something wrong to me?" I averted my gaze. How do I get started? It’s now or never. "That I broke our promise? I couldn't wait for you." "It's okay. I think that's my karma because I flirted with other women in the States. I was young and stupid. I want to apologize to you, but you've blocked me on almost every website that exists." He took a deep breath. "Your existence is precious to me, Luna. I still love you. Luna, if I could just turn back time and not do those things, maybe we could still be together." He moved closer to me then his hands covered my face. I saw his eyes full of sadness again. "Me too, Sky. I wish I could love you back." I hugged him tightly. My tears flowed as he hugged me back. I wish I could. -------- SKYLER MADRIGAL I caressed Luna's cheek. She lay on the sand while her head rested on my thigh so I could freely observe her angelic face. I know her twin, Camille. They are not the same two even though they are twins. You can read in their aura who Camille and Luna are. Camille loves to wear vulgar clothes, her face is also bold as if people have always been small. Luna, on the other hand, wore sensible clothes, and there was no trace of courage on her face. If you look at Luna, she looks like a lost puppy in the jungle. It's like when you touch her, she's going to cry. She's fragile. You can also see how much she loved his father even though he treated him that way. I don't even know why Mr Garcia had Camille its kindest child. During the time I was with Luna, I could only see the joy in her eyes when her Aunt, Aunt Vivian praised her or when she touched Camille's toy given to her by her Dad. I bent down then kissed it on the forehead. "Me too, babe. I wish you could love me back." I closed my eyes. Even though we were still in high school, I made up my mind that she was the woman I would marry. And when I get back here, I'll claim her again. I took a deep breath then stared. I lowered my gaze to Luna as she moved and tilted. I arranged the hair that covers her face. I turned pale when I noticed the reddish mark on her neck. Shit! Am I too late?! "Get your hands off my wife, Madrigal!" I turned to the person who possessed that authoritative voice. I saw Dylan approaching our place. He walks fast and glared at me. I slowly raised Luna's head and then lowered it to the scarf I rolled up to be a pillow. When I got up, Dylan pulled over the collar of my dress. His face is grim. "What do you think you're doing to my wife?!" Wife? The nerve! He wasn't even wearing their wedding ring. While Luna was always wearing hers. I smiled foolishly. "I hope Luna heard how you say she's your wife. She'll be happy to hear that." "What do you want to convey? That she's not happy with me?" I rubbed both my hands on my khaki shorts. "Do I still have to respond to that, Reyes? I don't think so. You already know the answer." If Luna was happy with him, she wouldn't be drinking alcohol today just to forget. If Luna is happy, she will show her real smile and not the fake one. "You don't know, Madrigal. You don't know if—" "I don't need to know anymore, Reyes. I met Luna first." I cut him off. I looked at Luna as she slept peacefully. "I can see the agony on her face. I just have to wait for the time that she gets tired of you." He has no right to hurt the woman I love. We exchanged sharp glances with each other. We both clenched our fists. I will never let Luna be sad again. I love the woman he treats like nothing. Luna is kind, she deserves someone who will never hurt her. I saw Trey and Kristian approached us and the guest are watching. We have already attracted a lot of attention. Trey stood between Dylan and me. "Get away from each other. Let's not ruin Mama's party." Dylan ignored what Trey said. He just walked past me and picked Luna. I must be the one doing that to Luna. I should be Luna's husband now. I kept myself from attacking Dylan because I knew that if I did that and she found out that I did it, she would hate me. I have sacrificed a lot for her. All I could do now was look at them while Dylan was scooping her and walked towards the hotel. I felt Trey's hand grip my shoulder. ----- DYLAN CADEN REYES I immediately entered the elevator when it opened. I looked at the woman I was carrying today. I took a deep breath. I no longer knew what I would do to her. I looked up and observed the number change at the top of the elevator. I don't know but, I want her in my arms. "Dylan..." She growled. It was as if some warm hand had caressed my heart. "I... wuv... you..." I shouldn’t feel it. I hate this woman. What else should I do just to get rid of how she feels about me? All I want is for her to hate me too, I want her to lose her love for me. I love Camille. She’s the only one I take seriously like this so I can’t accept that she left me. It would have been okay even if she just left me when we got married or ran away, but damn, why does she have to tie me to her twin. What I don’t understand is that I feel annoyed when Luna is with someone else. It's like I want to kill the man who approaches her. I kissed her on the forehead. "My walls already have a crack because of you, Luna.”

LUNA I moaned because of my severe headache. I drank very little last night, a. Why is he in such pain? I was about to get up but something heavy stopped me. When I opened my eyes I immediately saw Dylan asleep. His arm was wrapped around my waist and his thigh was running over my thigh. What does this mean? Next to me, Dylan slept?! W-We were side by side and h-he hugged me. Did I dream?! "It's still early." He growls. He pressed his head even tighter on my neck. My hair stood on end because I could feel the heat of his breath there. My headache seemed to go away suddenly. "D-Dylan?" "Shit!" He cussed. He stood up suddenly. He didn't look at me. Bewildered he opened the balcony door and went out there. I sat down and leaned on the headboard while smiling looking at the door Dylan walked out of. I looked around and saw the basin with only water and a towel hanging there. I also noticed the glass with only water and next to it there was medicine. Looks like he took care of me last night. I felt joy in my heart as I imagined Dylan taking care of me. It's a pity and I'm not serious because I'm drunk. It’s still the dress I’m wearing so I don’t have to worry anymore. I took the medicine before standing up. I walked towards the balcony door. I approached Dylan, he was lighting the cigarette in his mouth. I sighed. "I didn't know you were smoking." he exhaled smoke. I immediately covered my nose so I wouldn't sniff it. It's hard, I might even have an asthma attack. "Don't be carried away. You're just my wife because of a mistake. Don't butt in." Back to normal. I bit my lower lip. "Thank you for taking care of me." he extinguished the cigarette and faced me. "Get dressed, we'll have breakfast downstairs. Aunt Vivian will also take us around the whole villa." I wondered. All I know is we were only here one day. That is what was agreed upon. "Huh? We're not going home yet?" "Do you want to?" He says coldly. I shook. "I mean, maybe you still have meetings--" "I'm cancelling. Everything. I want to loosen up for a bit. This place is a great spot." He said as he rolled his eyes around. "Okay." I simply said before turning away. I immediately went into the bathroom and took a shower. I hope I can marry Dylan now, the one he doesn't talk to businessmen or he doesn't have a girlfriend. It's just me. But where am I? I finished taking a bath, I just realized that I had forgotten my clothes outside. I wrapped myself in a towel and went out the door. I stopped when I saw Dylan sitting on the side of our bed. he was well dressed and I noticed his hair was wet. Maybe he took a shower in the bathroom in the kitchen. "Leave the room, I'll get dressed." I don’t know where I got the courage to command Dylan. The corner of his lip rose. "After taking care of you last night, you'll just tease me now." My knees shook because the wind suddenly blew. The balcony door was not closed so the air came in. "I'll get dressed so you go out." He got up and approached me. I would have backed away if he hadn't just touched my waist. Our faces are almost close. There was a playful smile on its lips. "Go on. Put your clothes on or else .. you'll catch a cold." I averted my gaze. My grip tightened on the knot of the towel. "No. Not in front of you." "Maybe you want me to dress you?" He raised his hand. I sighed when I saw him holding my bikini top. There was a twinkle in his eyes that I could not read. "I won't mind." I quickly picked that up. "Disgusting!" I struggled to hold it. When I got away I immediately grabbed my bag that was on the side of the bed and ran into the bathroom. I'm already confused by what Dylan is showing me. He was tired of hurting me. So now he is playing with me. I came out of the bathroom after I got dressed. I can't stare at him. "Come on. I'm hungry." "That's right, Luna. Keep on using that fierce mask of yours. Let's see how far you can go." I was silent as I followed Dylan. He stopped at the elevator and pressed the Open Button. When it opened we immediately entered. We were the only two in there. I felt Dylan's hand holding my hand. His grip tightened on my hand when I tried to take it. I want to be mad. I want to get lost. I want to criticize them. But I can't because I might lose the little things that only make me happy. He presented me to him. "You're trembling. Are you this scared of me?" "I can't understand you anymore." "Me neither. This is not me." He pressed his body against mine and lowered his head to take my lips. What started soft, barely a brush of our mouths morphed quickly into something much more passionate. "Oh, my!" We broke up suddenly because of that shout. I wiped my lip before looking at Aunt Vivian. "I didn't see. We didn't see anything, did we, Skyler?" Just now I noticed Skyler was on Aunt Vivian's side. It was as if something had pierced my heart when I saw the pain in his eyes. His eyes dropped to Dylan and I's hand which to this day was still glued together. I bowed. I don't want to see the pain in his eyes. "Aunt." "It's okay for you to come down. Skyler and I plan to pick you up, eh." Smilingly Aunt Vivian said. "Breakfast is ready. Such morning surprise. Let's go." Skyler walked first and then Aunt Vivian. We caught Dylan. "Why did you kiss me?" I whispered but enough for Dylan to hear. "Not now, Luna." He says so strongly. "I need answers. Now." I'm already confused by what Dylan is showing. He looked at me. "'Do not be annoying." I haven't spoken yet. I walk ahead of him. We stumbled upon a seafood restaurant. In this restaurant, you will peel your food yourself because seafood is said to taste better when you peel it yourself. The only spoon is the rice. I sat in the chair to Aunt Vivian's left. Dylan pulled up a chair next to me. Suddenly the restaurant door opened and Kristian and Trey entered. They laughed as they approached where we were. Almost all of the women are distracted as they walk. They were not wearing tops so their perfect bodies were obvious. I even heard a spoon or fork fall. "She tied me on the bed, Dude!" I heard Kristian say. Boys! I noticed that Aunt Vivian was rubbed on her forehead. "Wait. Are we talking about Cindy Escudero?" Trey asked. They don't seem to care who can hear their conversation. Proud Ass! "Yes!" Confirmed by Kristian. They both kissed Aunt Vivian and then sat down next to her. Trey laughed. "Great lay." "Kristian. Trey. Do you want me to cut your sinful tongues?" Tita Vivian said calmly. He probably didn't want Kristian and Trey to talk either. Trey nodded. "No. 'Ma, my tongue is my second asset." "What's first?" I turned to Dylan as he spoke. He looks like Trey and I have vibes. He looked at me when he caught me looking at him. I immediately averted my eyes. "Can't you guess it, man?" Can't believe Trey said. "Of course, it's my di ---" "His dimple." Skyler sighed immediately. I looked at him. Even though she was smiling I was still aware of the sadness in her eyes. Trey kissed Skyler. "It's my dick, you douchebag." Boys talk, damn it! "What? Man, your dick doesn't exist." Kristian said laughing. "Boys! Your topic is disgusting!" I can't help but say. We're at the dinner table so that's what they'll talk about. Grabe. "Manners," Tita said and ate some crab meat. "Just eat." We have already started eating. As I was peeling the shrimp, I noticed Dylan was having difficulty peeling the crab. Seriously? He doesn't know how to peel a crab? I sighed then approached him. "Not like that," I whispered to him. I took the crab from his hand. "Like this. Remove it first and then you can open it." He nodded. I put the crab on the plate. "Shrimp. Peeled off my shrimp too." He whispered to me. I felt his hot breath in my ear. "Okay." His lazy. I peeled the shrimp on my plate. I was about to put it on Dylan's plate but he took my hand and eat it. My hair stood on end when I felt its lip on my hand. He doesn’t interrupt our gaze while munching on the shrimp. Both my cheeks got hot. My heart seemed to jump when he did that. Suddenly the table shook. I was shocked so Dylan and I lost sight of each other. I turned to Skyler who was now walking away from us. He slammed the door shut. "What happened there?" Astonished said, Aunt Vivian. Kristian and Trey looked at us at the same time. I bent down and bit my lower lip. "Diabetes." They said at once. "By the way, I can't tour you anymore. I have a visitor coming. So ..." Tita Vivian said with a smile. "It's okay, Tita. My wife and I can handle it." I looked at Dylan. My husband. "Okay. It's like these two, looking, fo girls. I'm sure." Tita smiled at her two children. "'Mom, you're still our number one girl, eh. We're your baby boys, aren't you?" Kristian said laughing. He drank the spoon with only rice and the dish in Tita's mouth. Tita ate it and pulled her hair from her ear. After they ate, we immediately took a walk on our own. To this day I still can't get out of my mind what Dylan did earlier in front of them Tita. I can't get to ask Dylan why he did that, because I'm turning a tomato into the red. Dylan pulled me onto the jetskis. I was stunned when he took off his fitted shirt and faced me. I also took off my sarong and the only thing left was my swimsuit. I saw his muscle tensed and his eyes roamed my body. I immediately felt ashamed. He held out his hand to me. "You sure this is safe?" I hesitate. A smile flashed on her lips. "Uh-huh." "I-It's just you. I don't know how to swim." I backed away. "Just carry me more there." I was about to turn around when suddenly there were arms around my waist to stop me from leaving. I gasped as I felt Dylan's hard chest behind me. "Trust me a little bit, Wife." I could feel his warm breath in my ear. But that didn't stop me. He called me his wife.
